New Year 2010!!!

Image
New Year starts tomorrow with new year wishes and resolutions!

Better maid

Image
It has been a month plus since the new maid joined us. I would say, this maid is not bad afterall. No doubt it is still to early to tell. She follows the timetable faithfully and do all work with good initiative. Hopefully she will be consistent throughout the next 2 years though, we all know it is quite impossible. She plays with me quite often... I do enjoy because she always gives in to me. Mom feels that this maid "pampers" me to a certain extent. When questioned; Daddy said - all these Indonesian maids are such. They usually give in to children and of course being employers' kids, these care-givers will not be fierce to children. So, good and bad. At least, Mommy knows that this maid will not "ill-treat" me. Surprising part is, I will ask the maid to feed me, play with me...but not with the previous maids..

Bubble wrap

Image
Im so fascinated by the bubbles on the bubble wrap. So nice to touch.. Anyone touches my bubble wrap, I get frustrated and scold them.. including Mommy & Daddy... At this age (i.e. 2.5 yrs old), we are fond of exploring new things, interesting and yet fun to play with. Of course safety precautions need to be exercised correctly. Right now, I also like to climb up to the chair/stool and even over the table. With the cane beside me, I am not really terrified unless Daddy steps in.

Merry Christmas to everyone!

Xmas Dinner

Image
Wooh!! This is my 2nd Xmas Dinner - cooked by Mommy. Officially this is my 3rd Xmas since my 1st cry. I didnt eat the Chicken Steak but I loved the sausages Y crispy french fries.. Probably because they are kind of "salty" and tasty, so I kept asking for more. Somehow, I love to eat crispy deep fried foods. Its not healthy though so Mom tries to "fry" the healthier choices like "Fried Cod Fish", those Premium (more expensive) Fried Nuggets. Luckily, I love veggies on the other hand like beansprouts, cabbage, spinach and french beans. Harder or more difficult to chew veggie, NO thanks...

Xmas Goodies

Image
Today, I had gotten some Xmas goodies from school. We had a mini party at school as well. Parents are invited but Mom didnt make it as she has some things to settle. I brought back some sweets and biscuits as well. Mommy prepared 2 Xmas gifts to my teachers - namely the form teacher and Chinese teacher. Form teacher even thanked her again through Handphone sms. Next year, another new Chinese teacher will take over to teach me. No doubt, present teacher will still look after me somehow - according to her. Well, Mom feels that I am kind of popular in school, probably because I am too mischievous. Just like one of the teachers said, Ray (myself) and another boy are the only two whom are always "in and out" of the Principle Room. This means to say, I am always being asked to stand in the Office (Principle Room) since I always do naughty acts and misbehave.

Xmas Lighting, I love!

This day, we went to Orchard Road to view some nice lightings during this festive season. As I am always very fascinated by coloured lightings, Daddy brought us to various points at Orchard thru driving.. I was so excited that I kept mumbling to myself. At about 9plus in the night, I dozed off in the car unknowingly. Nice shots to share with...

Salad

Image
I begin to be rather picky about food nowadays. Foods that doesnt look appealing turn me off. I will shake my head or shows a disguested look no matter how hard Mom tried to convince me. Well, to a certain extent - I am still willing to try new foods if 1 or 2 of the "ingredients" look familiar to me. Salad is one of them as I love cabbage. So today at Cafe Cartel, we had some salad starters. Not bad I would say, I tried a few mouths and finish my share. Salads are indeed healthy and of course the taste of salad dressings hook me up. Most of the dressings even mayonnaise, seems to boost my appetite.

Singing with fish

Image
As I become more vocal, I started to hum and sing along songs which I am familiar with. Sings Like "Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars", "London Bridge", "Old Macdonald", "Humpty Dumpty", "ABC"... etc, even in Mandarin 1, 2, 3 (numbers), I will play by talking to myself, "Days of the week", "Colours". Recently, I had learnt one new song, something about "...swimming in the water..."because I kept singing - "All the fishes, swimming in the water..." and after that, I will sing - "All the penguins swimming the water..." and the next I will sing, "All the fishes swimming in the Mommy..." DUH... Just now before I sleep; as I looked at my bolster, I saw some pictures of fishes and started to say again, "all the fishes....swimming in the water."

Duck noodles

Image
My favourite meal is rice with simple dishes like chicken or some cabbage will do. Sometimes, I dun even mind if its just gravy over rice, without any veg or meat. I can finish about 3/4 of Mom's usual portion. Recently, I was introduced "Noodles" by Mom since I was started off with Bee Hoon in school. Mom had Duck Noodles for her dinner and she portioned out 1/3 for me to try. Well, I seemed to love it though probably because of its thick gravy. Duck meat was minced into smaller pieces for me to try. To me, its just another piece of meat. As long as its soft and doesnt give the kind of "rubbery" or elastic feeling, I will swallow it and ask for more. More dishes to experiment!!

IKEA Alphabet Cookies

Image
We went to buy some carpet and an art abstract for our living room at Ikea today; since we had bought a new sofa set for the new year 2010. Throughout the whole journey, I kept asking for biscuits (as usual)... Mom has no choice but to get some off the shelf at Ikea store - just beside the customer service counter.

Corn (鸡眼) on my finger??

Image
Weird thing - a corn-look-alike PIMPLE appear out of the blue on my left hand finger... too painful which makes me fuss the whole day today. It has a "white eye" instead on the wound that makes Mom suspects it as a corn. She went to buy some kind of corn plaster; apparently will help to remove this "corn" in the next 3 days if this plasters were diligently put on for the next consecutive 3 days. Shall see how the condition progress then. Looks gross though...

Really Shin-Chan 腊笔小新?

Image
Sometimes bringing me outdoors can be a chore. If my mood is good for the day, thats fine. Otherwise, Mom's blood pressure will shoot up man! A stroller comes in very handy as I can rest and sleep if Im tired in the middle of any outdoor trips. The worst place; which Mom really dreads is Supermarket (since I have to tag along every time). A word to describe - disastrous. Recently, Por-por asked Mommy - "Do u remember watching any shows/video of mischievious kids during your pregnancy since your boy is so extreme..." Mom said that she didnt watch anything out of the norm but enjoys ShinChan very much during her pregnancy...Por-Por shook her head - That explains my behaviour.

Very talkative

A Two-and-a-half Year old toddler like me; getting very talkative. I talk to Mommywhen we are on the way to school; on the way back from school to home, when Mommy is cooking... before we (mommy & I) sleep especially, I will chirp non-stop like a bird. Sometimes, I will sing and give "instructions" to me, tell Mommy to buy cake on the next day, etc. Or sometimes even relate incidents to Mommy about my classmates, the food I've taken during lunch. Sometimes, the things I speak do spells some disbeliefs to Mom because irregardless, am not even 3 years old yet, am I really that conscious of the things happening around myself? Or am I really that expressive? These are some of the questions popping in and out of Mommy's mind. Some kids are really born smart.. But as for me, Mom didnt want to think further. Being smart at a young age is an asset but she is more concerned on my well-being and character wise. My temper is getting from bad to worse. I get more canings for

Know my limits - Enough

Knowing our own limits - very important in whatever we do in life. Mommy always "preached" this to the kids around her; even to Daddy. She tries to inject this preach into my brain as well. So, when I do certain things at home, I will tell myself - "Ok, enough already" So even when am outdoors - Mom always reminds me - Okay Ray, enough. Sometimes, I will tell myself ENOUGH as well. Check out the video below.

Im TOILET-TRAINED; milk too?

Image
I am akmost 99% toilet-trained now. Honestly, Mom didnt invest much time to toilet-train me so, she assumed the credit goes to the school and perhaps the peers as well since some of my my classmates already fully toilet-trained since 18months old. So, whenever I want to pee or poo, I will tell Mommy. "Mommy, I wan Shhh-Shhh" "Mommy, I want to Poo-Poo" I will take out my underwear and shorts and sit on the toilet bowl to do my business. I really dread wearing diapers for now. Its just kinda warm for me now probably as I grow older, I tend to perspire more. My nappy area would get sensitive and redness will come. Since I've started to wear underwear to school and even at home (during the weekends), I only wear diapers during my afternoon nap & nightie sleeping time. So, its very cost-savings for Mom now as she dun need to spend alot on disposable diapers now. According to my teachers; my milk intake decrease quite alot too. During the day, I will ask for milk

Ice-cream!

Image
Once in awhile, it should alright to indulge in some nice ice-cream... I like the icy feeling on my lips and tongue when Mom lets me have a little taste of it. Actually Mommy does not me to eat titbits or even junk food like sweets, chocolates.. etc. Despite the fact that, she knows very well this is just part of growing up, I will soon grow out of it. But still she would want me to cultivate a good eating habit so that I can have a healthy body when I am older. So now, she has to prepare more nutritious food/meals for me. In school, she is can rest her mind for as far as my meals are concerned. The only issue earlier on was, she found out the newer teachers (new-comers) fed me potato chips twice. She had since feedback to the form teacher and now, she never see this again.

Mayo & Cheese dip

Image
I started to add my flavours to my food, such as Mayo sauce & Cheese dip. The other day, we went to Pizza Hut. I simply love the both of them. Sometimes when I see Daddy dipping his food into the chilli sauce, he will said, "Ray cannot eat yeah, LA-LA (Spicy in Mandarin)." Then I will say, "LA-LA (spicy), so Daddy & Mommy cannot eat." or I will ask, "LA-LA (spicy) ah, really ah?" and give them disbelief look or puzzled look. Mommy wanted to introduce Tomato sauce to me. But Daddy disagrees. For whatever reason, she did not find out from Daddy but perhaps none of us eats Tomato sauce so if I ever starts, I will be the only one asking for tomato sauce in whatever food I eat next time. This should be in Daddy's thought. Anyway, Daddy seems to be forbidding alot of things - which initially Mommy fails to understand. But now, she finally does. At the end of the day, it is at my best interest and saves all the "hassles" at the later stage o

Bad habit in the morning

Image
I have this very bad habit in the morning, I would take off my clothes, diapers and walk around the house. The most, I will allow the maid (oh yes, I have a new maid now) to put on my diaper. Until Mommy spots it, she will insisted a top (t-shirt) at least to be put on. Well, Mommy is still trying to find out the actual reason behind this habit. Nowadays, am also getting irritated by my own diaper. Am I ready for toilet training now?

Power puff (imitate)

Image
Imitating Mommy - her actions, words are all very important to me now. Whatever she said, will get drilled into my brain and I'll remember them and said the same to people. The other day, Mommy said, "Hey, you are really kaypoh (Busybody) ah". The next moment I said, "Mommy kaypoh, Daddy kaypoh". This is the effect. Now, I am fond of saying - "I like Mommy, I love Mommy" when my mood is good or if Mommy treats me cakes and biscuits. When Mommy scolds me or forbids me to do something, I will say - "I dun like Mommy, I dun love Mommy. I like Daddy, I like lizard, I like kaka (cockroach)". Every weekday morning, Mommy will put on her make-up before she heads to work. So, I will sit beside her and watch her at times. Sometimes, I will take her Powder Puff to play and even attempted to apply (fake powder, as if there is powder on the puff) onto my face. Now, she keeps the puff out of my sight... That is dangerous though, I am boy and if I am seen

MAC Happy Meal

Image
Finally, am having my "own" meal in a box at Macdonald's. Usually, Mommy will feed me from her share; be at Burger King, Macdonald's, or any other fast food restaurants. I am also occupying a seat on my own (means I will sit on any chair like Mommy does). No more stroller by the side of the table or even baby high chair. I do not like to be confined to a small little space. So, sitting on the chair makes me feel like I am the same like everybody in the restaurant. Of course, its tedious for Mom as I would play with the cutleries, table mat, kept requesting to drink water from the big glass, silling on the table and so on. In fact, Mommy enjoyed the period when I was in the stroller while she's having her meals. Now, its really a handful handling little toddlers like me at outdoors... She would rather stay at home.

Another Sibling

Image
Our neighbour's daughter had just gave birth to a baby boy, premature little baby. The moment I looked at the baby, I smiled. When asked if I want a baby, I nodded my head. But when Mommy said, "Mommy brings baby home yeah, u stay with auntie (neighbour), okay..." I said, "No, (I) beat baby!" Wow, that sounds fierce. Its just plain jealousy. Mom had thought to herself; she's rather sure she wouldn't be able to "juggle" between 2 little babies, because its really tough to maintain a good equilibrium among the siblongs. Come to think of it, most parents are usually biased to one compared to the other in general. Of course, there are also parents who really exercise fairness among their children. But somehow, parents should know, it is never easy. Mom has so many things to handle each day, I guess it should be too much for her if this is added onto her "back". Well, things are hard to predict. Perhaps in the near future, I may have a lit

Scissors

Image
Cutting becomes of the many things I like to do during my free time especially over the weekend. Basically, Mom realised I just like to hold on to something (be it pencil, pen, dust brush, cloth and even a pair of scissors) to complete a task. Holding on to scissors is dangerous but luckily, its just my pair of pigeon scissors which was used to cut nails during newborn days. Perhaps its just another fascination by looking at the paper being "separated" into 2 as I cut them apart.

Mom recovered!

Image
Mommy recovered and finally back to Office again. She feels good though to be back and be hectic again with schedules and datelines! Well, she is a workaholic but yet prioritise her family first above everything. And of course, I recovered too! Everything seems to be like a dream, happened so fast and has been a week. Still remembered that day when Mom brought me back to home after a severe fever and sore throat, I was enjoying a small piece of jelly given by my Principle. In order to comfy me, my Principle handed me a small jelly (since am sick). She told Mommy, that she wants to be my "friend" and didnt want herself to appear to be the bad guy since am always terrified when I see her. Err, I accepted the jelly and yet am still "scared" of her. In actual fact, its good because Mom thinks that the only person whom can suppress me, will be my Principle. Am not even afraid of Mommy or Daddy. I look more and more like a tyrant in the house now... Oh GOSH..

My Poor Mommy, Im Sorry

Image
My poor Mommy had gotten the sicko virus from me... a mild one. Doc said, adults usually will not get unless their immune system is pretty low at then. Immune system can be low if the adult is stressed up too, doc said. So she got the virus from me during her most stressful period (without maid, plus looking after the sickly child, which is me)... Talking about a mild one, hers is a very painful experience... She cannot walk for too long, her feet pain as if needles prickling her... Her palms are painful but no choice gotta do housework still. Her throat with only that few ulcers though; when she swallow saliva (not to mention even eat anything down her throat), she has to hold back her tears as she let the saliva/water/food flow through her throat... Both Mommy & myself experienced the same symptoms... Started all with high fever, up and down and never subsides... the moment you missed the fever medicine for that few minutes, fever rose up again. Then next day comes the throat,

Im sick again...

More details to follow.

Growing up soon...

Image
As I grow older, I am more conscious of my surroundings; things around me; am able to express my wants and needs somehow. Usually, I will tell Mom "I want to play toys". So I will hold Mommy's hand and ask her to accompany me throughout... Though it can sometimes be quite boring, but Mom tries to tell herself - this is the stage now when she will never have it again, the stage when Im still so innocently cute; talking back is still not my forte yet and my occasional smiles to Mommy when she starts to join in the fun of playing toys with me. As Im still young, am still very attached to Mommy. She wondered; will it still be the same when Iam a teenager? She had seen many examples from her colleagues. There are some Moms out there whom are already "isolated" with their teenagers (ironic part is, their kids were so sticky to them when they are much younger)... Today, Mom came across an article that says, "Does your kid respect you because of fear?" A kid w

Not cooking

Image
As we are maidless for these few weeks, Mom has not been cooking all this while. We had been eating "outside food" for dinner... Well, I still enjoyed the food as well. Nice food, really. I specifically love the lemon fried fish which is extremely delicious. I would leave it to the last to finish after all my rice. See how enjoyable I seems to be.

Be a sport

Image
Im learning sports!! Errrm, Mom wants me to be in either the Squash Team or Tennis Team in my future Primary School. For a start, I join in the fun as Daddy played Table Tennis with kor-kor... So nice and I seemed to be enjoying more than them. To be sporty is one of the reason, but more for healthy purposes...and to build up my stamina since am so skinny. Let's hope I am a sports person when I grow older. So, let's get trained since young!

Maidless for the few weeks...

Image
My poor Mommy has to work like a cow for the next few weeks as our maid decides to go back Indonesia... So, we all very tied up with housework... will blog by next week once everything gets settled...

Ball-oons

Image
Mom didnt know that a ballon can bring so much joy to me... Just by myself, I can play the balloon non-stop for a good few minutes. Perhaps, it can float and bounce for a while. So that somehow fascinated me... Wooh, I wish I will be in a mini house full of small balloons. The next time, Mom will bring me to downtown east to the "playground full of small balls" instead. She is rather sure I will like it though... Balls or balloons, accompany almost every child in their childhood..

Running about...

I prefer to walk by myself; explore the world and see interesting sightings around... But Mom didnt allow me to be too "independent" at outdoors since am still too young... But if we are in a safe area/zone where roads/carparks are nowhere to be seen, yes, I am roamed about freely within that zone or if I have the company of a grown-up kid... Mom took a video; to reveal the excitement & happiness in me as I run about "freely" without being constrained to my stroller...

Mirror Image

Image
Imitating, learning to speak after Mommy & Daddy are my forte right now. As Mom has very dry eyes (since age is catching up with her as well), she needs to wear her specs after she reached home from work. As I looked; how Mommy puts on her specs, I begin to ask for "my specs" as well. I put them on happily and smile to the camera. Yes, I started to learn - to smile when Mommy takes snap shots of me.. It was tough at the very beginning as I didnt know what is photography all about. Now, somehow - I just knew it. To smile and see the flash light, the next thing is to look at the camera screen to see how I look like in the picture... Last week, Mom was on 2-day course with NTUC Learning HUB on effective communication. She learnt that communication with our children is also very important especially to toddlers because of "Mirror Image". The word Mirror Image strikes Mom's mind and immediately, she pictured herself screaming on top of her voice at me, using the

Kim Gary

Image
We went to KIM GARY Restaurant today for a good lunch. Yesterday, Mom was about to lunch with her colleagues at the same place. But they changed their minds at the very last minute. Anyway, we had Spicy Noodles, Pork Chop & Chicken Chop Baked Rice, French Toast and some soups to go with. Pretty good food. I enjoyed the toast and soup very much, too bad the portion is too little for me though.

I love spongeBOB

Image
I dun seem to like Barney just like Mom.. If I happen to flip my book and spot Barney, I will say, "Beat you, Barney!" On the contrary, if I know its spongebob on the TV (by just hearing their theme song), I will dance along with the song and said, "Bob Bob!!". Havin said this, Sponge BOB is a piece of sponge and I like to use a piese of cloth to clean here and there... so probably we do "match" somehow. Today, I requested a cloth to clean the windows for Mom as I spotted some dirt/dust. And that also tells Mom, that our maid is not up to the standard (again). Well, I even showed Mom the dirt! Apart from cleaning, I also took it out on my ABC mat..

Using my towel

Image
Being just nosey or independent; but I attempted to dry myself with towel every after bath. I will tell Mom, "Mommy, I help you dry my body..." As I am not good at expressing myself yet, what I meant should be - I wanted to lend a helping hand to my Mommy, to dry myself instead of her doing it for me everytime... (hopefully). As I dry myself, I will mumbled like, "dry my body"... "dry my hair", "dry my face"..."dry my private part"... etc. Mom used to do this so all these are merely just imitations. At this stage, mirror images will come in. Whatever the adults do, we (children) will follow suit. So, its important Mom & Dad set a very good example for us. Not an easy task though, as sometimes they just cannot control their emotions and break out by scolding us like hell.

Mozzie --Sshh

Image
BY the look of it, we all know this is a suer irritating creature. And well, I am probably one of their favourites preys.. On certain occasions, I get poked by them and seriously, the bite is always somewhat "posionous" as it will swell up to the extreme. Just like recently, this small little bite swell up on my neck & leg, as if I have some kind of a BIG lump.. I was taken to my doc and prescribed with some med and cream. Initially, Mom wanted to use some anti-mozzie cream but she hesitated. Somehow, she feels skeptical about it and decides not to. So, bites will come and go I guess. Suspecting I got bitten at home and should be in the maid's room. ****Sigh****

Mooncake Festival

Image
Its another Mooncake/Lantern Festival again... a day where we indulge ourselves into mooncakes, totally forgotten all about slimming & keeping fit. Mom is one of them.. She loves mooncakes and as usual, she bought the same from Regent this year and Sheration Towers. Few days ago, Mrs Borhan reminded Mom to bring my lantern to school as we will be parading with our lanterns on a Friday afternoon (which is yesterday). Yesterday morning, I couldnt wait any longer but took out the lantern and played with the "bulb" instead. Sad to say, I was only excited for a day and today, am no longer interested in the lantern anymore. In fact, Im more fascinated by the blinking ever-changing lights of the bulb; which Mom definitely wont allow me to play with... So it was kept somewhere. Anyway, Im probably too young to either realise the fun behind it or simply put, has more interest on the other parts of the lantern while other kids were happily playing with their colourful and fanciful
