Sleep with Mom

Image
I began to squeeze bed with Mom some months ago... Well, Dad did complained insufficient space and of course not a good habit since he must learn to be independent somehow. Of course Mom cannot bear to leave me "in lurch" after several cries in the middle of the night (Cries of wanting to sleep beside Mom). So, she put me to sleep on her bed together with her... she will sing with me, play and have a short chat with me. After 15mins, she will say, "Ok, Ray. Close your eyes & Sleep.". Then I will close my eyes tight and eventually dozed off in 2 mins. Sounds easy to put me to sleep huh. But there are times where; Mom really gets so frustrated as I refused to rest but just kept playing, screaming & giggling. Anyway, they just had new bed from Sealy Posturepedic ® - since Dad's back problems had been persistent. Though am still a toddler, but I seems to know that; Mom's bed is more confortable than my own bed. Dunlopillo was their previous brand which

My specs

Image
I like to play near the TV...and there is no way to stop me unless Dad uses his best weapon ---- foodo lure me to the sofa.. Mom was quite worried about my eye sight since she herself is short-sighted; I may inherit from her afterall. Daddy has very slight & mild short-sightedness... He wears spectacles in the night if he drives... Normally, he is good without specs. Well, wearing specs and contacts lens.. with all the solutions, its honestly a chore to Mom.. She has to change into specs right after her bath (a long day from work & night's cooking) on every week day. So where there is a day to rest like weekends, she prefers specs as less hassles and free her eyes from triedness. She does not want me; to go thru these. But again, if its meant to be; guess its a matter of time. Mom sees many young kids as young as Kindergarden; start on specs... Poor babies --- I may just be one of them.

Tearing from book

Image
Happily flipping through my favourite book -- right after Mom "mended" it (the book) for me... As there are many flip-back cards on each of the pages, I often tore them out if I cannot flip any one of them. Its an old book, so the normal wear & tear were already there... She thought this is a good book which had walked me thru the alphabets from A to Z... So, she used small red square red cardboards to paste the missing alphabets.... Extract of the red cardboard papers.. with hand-written alphabets. . And am still trying to tear them apart if I have difficulty in flipping...

Talking on phone

Since the day I started to imitate adults' talk; I talked non-stop, sing endlessly at home and sometimes even pick up the house phone and talk to myself... or rather I thought there was someone on the phone... Its just very funny as I babbled, no one knows what I am talking about but I seem to be talking something important... and looked serious when am on the phone. Anyway, I started to talk to mom on the phone now by saying, "Mommy, xx". Whats that "xx"? Well, its just one word or one phrase. Okay, a good start... Mom's phone will burn the next time when I know the meaning of dial...

Doctor?

Image
I took this old toy out to play -- in fact, I seldom play but seems fun. As I had paid several visits to the doc previously, I knew what this "toy" was for. So I started to hear my own stomach, heartbeat, ... etc. But funny part is, I didnt wear the ear-plugs (from the pic). Well, my running nose came back as usual. Hopefully, it will come and just go like the previous...

Japanese Snack

Image
Some nice Japanese Snack which Mom bought Yamakawa Super at TAMPINES ONE last weekend . Seems nice and healthy, so she bought to try. I love it as I keep holding the bag and munch non-stop... A nice shop if you like Japanese stuffs and snacks.

SOUP - Pls

Image
Since Mom cooks soups every weekday & Sunday (Sat is her off day from the cooking chore); I get to drink soup as well. Every after dinner, I will ask for soup by saying "SOUP, SOUP" and pass my bowl to Mom. Mom feels glad that I love soups as it is healthy to drink nutritious soups every after dinner. After soup, comes my water and my bottle of milk ends the night before bedtime.

Diaper crazy

Image
I started to take notice of the picture/cartoon on my various diapers... I have day & night time diapers at home. So sometimes I would choose the wrong diaper to be worn in the morning or even nightime before I turn in. I will fuss if Mom insists her stand - on which one I should wear strictly. Anyway, in order to ensure Mom takes the one I like, I will take all my fav diapers out and hug them... Well, Mom didnt give in of course. But she thought that I looked funny with all diapers all over me.

TLC on animals

Image
I was first introduced to dogs and now cats. I am fascinated when I can see these animals move about freely by themselves along the streets. Of course, dogs usually follow their owners but not cats as they are usually many stray cats in Singapore. I have a big soft toy dog at home... And I like to hold it, touch it... and say, "woh-woh...woh..." (dog barking sounds). We are not allowed to keep pets at home for the moment even though we have 2 pet lovers here (my 2 old folks)... Being emotional, they do nto want to go thru the same agony of losing these loved ones. Well, perhaps during their ripe age, they may keep one for companionship. Right now, they try to inject kindness, love & care for animals into my stream. Small animals as pets are so cute and we have to be treat them just like how our parents love us.

Kitchen, my playground

Image
Alright, KITCHEN is a banned place for all toddlers. No doubt, we have a sliding door which can actually barred me from entering; I will still make my way through because I want to stick to Mommy (since she's at the kitchen "most of the time" apart from work). Well, she can carry on doing her things while I carry on playing my things... Yeah, I will take out all (mine only) plates, utensils, particularly chopsticks which had recently became my playdoh. Uhmmm, Mom had thought me not to play with chopsticks, tap it nor throw it. So, what I do is only hold the bunch of chopsticks together in my hands..and do nothing about it. Holding 'em makes me delighted enough. Once, my maid tried to take them away from me (intention to keep since not safe) but my screaming had alerted Mom and she told the maid to leave it. Well, Mom tried to teach me the rules in the Kitchen instead since I refused to leave. Time goes by, I know the restricted parts in the kitchen. Washing area (lau

Upgraded Oral Care

Image
I had been brushing my teeth day & night; a routine set by Mommy. I will say, "brush teeth, brush teeth, brush teeth..." to Mom whenever I enter the bathroom (after I wake up & after dinner) before she even starts to settle me down. My pigeon toothbrush & First Teeth toothpaste ----- Mom thought of changing my toothbrush soon since it has been more than 6 months... She remembered my 1st encounter with Pigeon toothbrush was not a pleasant one. She realised the bristles are rather hard even though am kinda used to it now. She is looking forward to New Mother Exhibition & Metro Expo Sale next week... paying thru nose again. These are the few toothpastes Mom would like me to try.. should not be in Singapore though. She'll probably get from Drugstore... Kodomo toothbrush should be good, softer... Dun think we can find such fanciful Oral B toothbrush here... Oral B Stage 2 Toothbrush Winnie the Pooh 2-4 yo extra soft

Drinking water

I used to detest plain water since newborn but started to drink more after I joined childcare. Perhaps, this is PEER PRESSURE. I see my friends drink, so I follow. Likewise, I didnt drink much milk during the daytime but started back on regular basis when am at childcare. Good thing afterall. Now, every after meal, I will ask for water or if not, soup after dinner. One fateful night, I started to play with my vacuum flask - pretended to pour the water out onto the small cap to drink. this cute little act caught Mom's attention. I seem to be so obssessed about drinking nowadays.

Playing blocks

Image
Early in the morning; I will start to build blocks on my own. There is this young little girl - whom always like to disturb me; be it am reading, playing some toys, she will either snatch the toys from me or sit on my chair while I go and take some more toys or books. Mom taught me to be patient, especially with girls... Well, I didnt buy that of course but no choice since Mom carried me away to avoid a fight later (means I will fight with the little girl).

Smile or Pose?

Image
As Im already used to wake up at 6plus every morning; I will make sure Mom has the same sleeping habits with me too even during the weekends... Hiak hiak hiak Thermometer - beiing one of my fav toys; I will take this old stick to "measure" my temperature by putting it into my mouth, near my armpit... Mom failed to catch some shots of them but instead, asked me to smile to the lens. Uhmmm... this pix - looks more like a forced smile or a pose huh?

Funny cries

Image
If I see Mommy cry, I will cry too. Why? Mom cannot figure out the reason. A few possibilities; am scared - am sad - am pretending... This is what happened this day when I accidentally hit Mom and she pretended to bawl like me.. So, I bawled together with her... but with intervals. My expression changed real fast earlier before this was taped. This min, my tears will pop; next min, I stopped.

Water after food

My recent appetite has not been good again. Mom specifically instructed my teacher - no milk after 5pm . So, she did wat was told and I am able to finish my dinner again; smaller portion though. In order to train myself to drink water after food, Mom either pours some soup into the empty rice bowl or a cup of water with a spoon for me right after I finished eating. Its kinda messy as am still unstable while holding on to the spoon. The water may just drip and flood the tray. Being naughty, I ended up drinking from the tray! The consolation is, I will say "More more" to Mommy or maid once the bowl/cup is emptied. I will mumble something like thank you, ti-ti... Uhm, ti-ti stands for Aunty in my own language.. means to call my maid.

Meticulous

So much of me " mopping" the bathroom floor ; I started to clean the sliding doors, chairs and even the hall floor. Mom guessed - I watched too much of the maid (be it the previous maid.. cant be such good memory.. DUH... OR current maid's) chores of work; I started to imitate her doings such as cleaning. Probably of my fussy character, I cant stand dirtiness as mentioned before. But seems like this fussiness is getting more and more obvious. I will ask my maid to clean if the floor is wet. Things that is dirty; I would either throw away myself or I will hand it personally to the maid & ask her to throw.. No matter how tiny the dust can be, even a dot - just cannot escape my eyes. I know this is very extravagant of me but this is not coming from Daddy, folks.. Lately, my maid gets a good scolding everyday. So, what do u think? Mom used to be less calculative about tiny weeny stuffs eversince nagged by Po-Po (Mom's mother). But since she had always been meticulou

Balls & Barrels

Image
Hey, I like to play with balls... I can use my 1 hand to hold 3 balls, not because Im "capable" but I am just greedy. I prefer these color balls - from my Playskool Busy Ball Popper ; I would put the balls into the Playskool Stack & Nest Barrels ... pour from 1 barrel to the other. Mom sees it as a form of development skill. Anyway, she hopes to enhance the creativity side of me - to pave a good path for my future. Not sure if this is workable since all toddlers and kids will change as they enter different stages of life, but she will keep trying. Due to my intolerable temper; it should be better if I can work independently, this would be her biggest achievement in life and goal for now. Am trying to be independent and Mom is giving me a tough training on this. So far, not too bad. Am barely 2, cant expect much but in time to come, I could have been better.

Coming to 2 & #2

Image
Looking at this pic, reminds Mom of how tiny I was until to-date, I had grown this "big" and tall... talk about being 2 yrs old soon, Mom gotta start to pack some of the smaller clothes into a box - waiting to give "Yee-Yee" after her big day... Well, Mom is waiting and her neck seems longer each year. By packing the smaller clothes, Mom would know what to get for me on the next new batch of clothes... As times are bad now, she is trying to save up. So, everything is on budget except my food and milk. Colleagues/friends are asking Mom abt #2 whereabouts... But guess this is not the right time and she cannot imagine another "me"... as am really a handful to Mom now.. Having a #2 -- Wow..., she is not gonna think about the ConSeQuences...

Busybody

Image
Some time last week, I was pretty amazed by the construction workers - how they complete their tasks in those dangerous "trolley-lifts". I sat near my house door and watched them. As they finished their task and the "lifts" brought them down, I waved "bye" to one of the Bangladesh worker... He waved back to me too! Today after school, as I saw the "trolley-lifts" and I shouted "ORH!!!"... Anyway, there was some contruction works around my childcare centre's blocks... Teacher told Mom that I often smiled to the Indian/Bangladesh workers as they walked past our centre... and commented "am a friendly person..." But mom thought am just being busybody...

Array of Books

Image
Now I am more accustomed to Childcare's routine. Every morning after my health check and hand-washing, I will take not one book but several of them and start to "read" it.. In fact, I was more like mumbling to myself, asking teacher "questions" and getting Mom's acknowledgement (Mom will accompany me into the centre, stays with me for a good 10 to 15mins... before she leaves for work).
