1st food ~ HEINZ

Image
Mom bought Mei Mei's 1st food, Heinz Baby Jar Apple & Mango Purée. Well, it's 100% fruit juice. Mom tasted it, not too sweet & just nice. For the very first time, she accepted it. In between feeds, splitting & licking & swallowing... Fun progress though. Mom enjoyed "feeding" Mei Mei maybe because it was a breeze. It's a good start and Mom hopes it will stay the same when they reach the next stage ie Cereals... Check out the video of my 1st food feed!!

I have fever!

Image
Dunno since when I contracted fever... My fever went up to 39 Degree and no choice but to visit the clinic. I was given antibiotics this time round again since Im much older already. Thank God I wasnt given antibiotic when I was much younger. I still remembered my PD is a very strict Doctor. He never like to give antibiotic to me. Its only when I was about 3 years old, I was then given the 1st antibiotic.

Jackie Cheung 1/2 Century Concert

Image
Today, both Daddy & Mommy went to watch the world's best concert ~ Jackie Cheung. Its just like they are back to the old days when they were still a couple. So sweet and they enjoyed the concert very much together. Ever since myself & mei mei are born; they do not have couple-days together anymore. Only sometimes in the night, when both of us are asleep, they will spend some time watching tv or a show together once in awhile. However ever since Mom started work, she had to spend more time on her work (on her laptop). So quality time is being minimised.  Time is precious. Married couples whom have kids seldom will have home-alone time together. Those whom had must treasure and those who dun have, must try to "squeeze" some time out at least once a week. The busy schedules during weekdays already keep the couple tied up. Weekends will be the time for relaxation & family time. Where would there be "Pak-Tor" time? So time management is very important. I will eat BEANS!

Image
To Mom's surprise, I initiated to ask for french beans to be added into my plate of rice. Even Daddy was surprised to know this. When I am at home, I detest veggies. When I am in school, I do not have a choice but to eat. Cant be choosy in the school though. My conversation with Mommy: Mom: Ray, you had grown taller! Ray: Yes, Mommy! See, my head reached your waist already. Mom: Yeah, very soon you will grow taller than Mommy. Ray: Its because I eat vegetables you know. Mom: No, you didnt eat any at home. Dun bluff! Ray: I eat vegetables in school. The vegetables at home is not nice Mom: ... That means Mommy's recipe on vegetables need to be improved???

Class Photo Taking

Image
Today is our Class Photo-taking Day! Mom specially combed my hair with wax to make me look neater. She had reminded me numerous times; not to sweep my hair with my fingers once I reached school. Once the photo is out, Mom will post here yeah. And yes, I do not have any white shoes to match. So I ended up wearing my Old Navy Shoes. Hope I still look okay in them. Mom's intention is to sell these pair of shoes away. But seems like they can still be put to good use and on special occasions. So she decided to keep it. Now, she needs to find ways to sell off my crocs that look almost brand new!

Mei Mei in Rocker

Image
Finally we can see how Mei Mei enjoys herself in the rocker. When she is well fed; she will not bawl when in the rocker. She will start to look at the dangling toys and pull here and there. The vibrate mode works well. At least keeps her "in motion". Rocking mode - maid loves to put her on the rocker because sometimes, she will just doze off on the rocker than in the sarong. Weird but there are a few times Mom saw it and was glad that the rocker is useful afterall. But of course sometimes if she is put on the rocker by myself, no one enterains her ---- haa, she will cry and wants to be carried up again. So, afterall she needs a Companion.... Mom just felt that I am more independent than Mei Mei. When I was much younger, I can sleep by myself & play by myself... Hope that Mei Mei can be like me when she grows slightly older.

Kind Hearted ME

Image
Mom is very proud of me for a moment when I said that I wanted to donate some money to the charity figurine at Cold Storage today. I was hesitant because I was not sure what is the charity thingy all about. So I had posed several questions to Mommy before I took out my coins. Still, eventually I took out a 20-cent coin and put into the slot. After we hopped into Daddy's car, I asked Mommy for the coins which I had donated just now. When Mommy told me that the coins are in the figurine already, I asked her to fork out her own coins to give me back the money... ***Sigh*** is exactly what Mom can only do. So thats why she was only proud of me FOR A MOMENT... But nevertheless, its the thought that counts. Perhaps I still do not understand the logic of donations. Anyway, Mom has always been skeptical towards public donations since the NKF issue here.

Tantrums

Image
Since Mei Mei turned 4 months; she started to refuse milk at times. Mom cannot recall the same incident that may have happened to me. But now, its such a challenge to feed her. Even the maid gets somehow frustrated at times but Mom kept reminding the maid on that few possible reasons. Throwing tantrums during milk feeding could be: * Wind in the stomach (need to burp first) * Stomach discomfort (gonna poo) * Teething (itchy gums) * Sleepy (rather sleep than to drink) So now, maid somehow gets the hang of it. Of course sometimes, its so hard to control her crying. And so far, only Mom can take control of the "crying situation". Errmm, sad to say; Daddy is unable to pacify Mei Mei even though he so-claimed he can if he wants to. Urghh... Well, Daddy is only good at CONTROLLING... ME lor! Being the stricter figure, of course I will be more scared of him than Mom.

Tummy Time!!

Image
At 4.5 months, Mei Mei can finally lift up my head higher a bit and has a better control of my neck. Mom was still very worried that I may be late in my milestones. But at the rate she is going, it seems like her developments are on the right track like a normal baby. Of course, Mom will still continue to encourage her to have more tummy time. Mei Mei can be quite impatient; only a min or two, she does not want tummy time anymore. So, she will start to bawl and asked to be put back lying flat. Well, nevermind... take your time Mei Mei. You can do it!

I can write my name!

Image
Finally, I know how to write my own name. Ray - luckily, there are only 3 alphabets to learn. Honestly, its that easy. There was once, Mom tried to teach me how to write Daddy & her names... When I see Daddy's name ROY on the paper, I told Mom, "Hey, thats my name, Mommy!" Our names are just an alphabet difference. Roy & Ray --- looks quite the same huh. Mom remembered; the admin clerk in my school also asked, "Why is Ray having the same name as his father huh...?". Not long after she took the form and read carefully the words; she realised the middle alphabet is different and all others the same (like the surname).. Its really a jump of difference after I changed school. I can write words by myself, my name and able to recognise numbers, etc. Good start for Kindergarten next year!

Lady-Like

Image
Mei Mei's face changed... no longer has that common infant-like face anymore. Her features starts to get sharper and distinctive. Her big eyes more and more like goldfish eyes... That's probably one of the best assets she can be proud of for now and in the future... Errmmm, can't seem to find any dimples, but Po Po said she has a dimple when she cries... Keke, Mom will find a chance to take a pix the next time she cries to capture that small tiny dimple. One of Mommy's colleagues commented her smile looks like Mommy and me.. Haaa, I am really looking forward to see how Mei Mei looks like as she grows older.

No Tears to Haircut

Image
Hey finally I give in to haircut & no longer cry anymore. This time round, the stylist can cut a good slope for me at the back of my head. Otherwise in the past, going for a haircut is really like going for the sake of just cutting away that extra lengths. Now that I can sit still; no longer need Mommy to carry me to sit on the chair, the stylist can cut a style out of me. I feel so handsome!! Of course the dropping hair still provokes me much but not that bad afterall. And I had learnt to close my eyes during the whole hair cutting session.

Saliva

Image
Mei Mei had been drooling away recently... Mom dun remember me drooling so much at such a young age: 4mths plus. Anyway, putting the bibs which Mom had bought to good use now. Even the pacifier does not work very effectively too. Alot of the saliva remnants on the pacifier interior. Guess Mei Mei 1st tooth should be erupting soon likely by 6months.

2-fingers Rule

Image
I'm already 4 years old. But am still using 10 fingers to grab my food. Actually the trick is to use 2 fingers since am already this age. If I use all 10 fingers, all 10 dirty. Even sometimes my nails will b stained with food crumbs... Sounds gross huh... Anyway, using 2 fingers to grab food is Daddy's rule. This is to ensure only 2 fingers are dirty and looks neater. Okay, still a long way to learn this 2-finger trick. Mom will not stop reminding me. What's more, I'm a messy person when it comes to eating creamy stuffs like cakes, doughnut, cream cookies... After wash up; see how clean I am now...

Lil gals Bibs

Image
They are just so adorable that Mom just can't resist to buy. Actually we already have many bibs. But they are quite boyish... So mom decides to get a few for Mei Mei.. So sweet right?

Our Portrait

Image
Finally, I had a chance to take snapshot of myself & Mei Mei. By looking at the picture, I realized myself is so much bigger, huge than Mei Mei. She is so small & fragile. There are people who said we do look alike but some said not alike. Mei Mei v much like Mommy. Myself, supposed to be but the shape of my face is like Daddy. Sometimes it's just so fascinating to see how much a child resembles like her/his Daddy & yet, at the other able resembles Mommy. That's the trait Mei Mei has now...

Mei Mei's Drumstick time

Image
This is my Mei Mei's drumstick time. She started to bite & chew her fingers... Still not too good at grabbing but only aim her own fingers into her tiny mouth. She is so adorable! She also started to drool, more than often...

Mei Mei's 1st Shave!

Image
Mei Mei had her first Shave and she looks clean cut? As usual, the shave is done by Daddy.. He did the same to me too and... I remembered I had at least 3 shaves.. Well, of course Mei Mei cried since it's uncomfortable to have some blades running over her scalp with some "heavy metal" sounds... Eeeeks! Mom does not want Mei Mei to shave too many times. Afterall, being a girl, Mom does not Mei Mei to have coarse hair. Dunno y but Mom always think that HAIR is a very important feature in our outlooks .

Meimei loves pacifier!

Image
Since the introduction of pacifier, meimei has been sleeping soundly during her naps. Come to think of it, Mom probably have a softer spot for meimei. Didn't want her to bawl too long especially she's a girl. Mom is worried if this long-term use of pacifier will cause my lips to be "thicker" and looks out of shape... Now by lookng at the pictures, does my lips look weird? Recall back in the past, I didn't have any pacifier at all. Mom just left me crying by myself and that's how I'm being trained to learn independence, slept by myself, played by myself... Sounds lonely? Yup, but now with a little sweetie pie, I'm not sure because I felt like I'm losing Mom & Dad favoritism.. Of course, I know the both of them are trying their best to create fairness... Especially Mom. I promise not to be so mischievous to attract more attention...

A day in school

Image
This I can say, I enjoyed very much in the school. Every morning, we will assembly in the main classroom at the other bay. Then, we will have breakfast at about 8.30am. We usually have bread of different filling each day. Choices like Tuna, Kaya, Egg, Peanut Butter...etc. Beverages would be either Milo or Fresh Milk. When I reached school, I will bring a toy to play with my schoolmates. Sometimes, I will bring paper/book with pen/pencil to draw or write... In the past, I dun remember myself doing such in my ex school (Childcare). Hence this explains why I began to like school.
