Baby growth spurt

Image
My milk intake decrease significantly since last year Dec... and stagnant until 1st 2 weeks of Feb. But now throughout the last 2 weeks; I began to ask for more milk after dinner & in the middle of the night. Not sure if this is what people called it " growth spurt "... But of course Im more "fussy" than before as I walked to the kitchen very often to point at my can of milk powder... I would cry for milk & smile/giggle the next moment I see my milk... I called milk as "wher-wher"... Sounds weird huh..

No more cries

Image
Surprisingly, I did not cry when Mom left childcare centre since yesterday. I seemed to have adapted & blended into the culture now. Well, Mom hope this is not temporary... Daddy thought I seems to enjoy the fun at childcare now. Perhaps, this is the joy of growing up. Exploring with both hands; trying to discover the world.

Monkey see - Monkey do

As the subject describes.. In the morning as usual, I waited for Mommy to settle herself down -- wash up, brush teeth, contact lens, make-up, blah blah... etc. As I watched how she took her contact lens out from the case & puts it into her eyes; I did the same when I asked for the lens case from Mommy. See how hilarious it is from the clip..

Recovered wound

Image
No more plasters ~ so this is my cut... No too deep but bruises (blue-black) rather bad instead... It must have been a great impact when I fell - Mom thought. The best part is - according to the teacher, I did not cry long. To make it more trivial; I stopped crying & pointed the packet of Oreo biscuit which my classmate was holding... So, I managed to grab a small bite from it - take it as a pacify from the teacher. Mom did not like the idea of "Oreo" since am still coughing badly... Anyway, form teacher revealed that serving of biscuits (as part of the meal/snacks) is discouraged by the government - and there was a memo circulated to my childcare centre. Mom can rest her mind now.

That's gross

Image
I started to refuse dinner nowadays... ever since my fever, I had been taking porridge as the myths of not taking rice during fever still stands... We believe that rice may cause indigestion; tendency of fever occurence is high. For tonight's dinner, she has no choice but to mix in oats into my porridge.. Its gross but I ate it! Well, Im really hard to please, I know... Mom decides no more porridge; and go back to rice...

I love Medicine!

Image
When I was a newborn; I have difficulty taking medicines with syringe. I don't seem to like the idea of something poking into my mouth.. Not until when Mom started to use SPOON (cannot remember exactly when); I began to enjoy medicine... Sounds ridiculous but I do not destest taking them no matter how many different types of medicine there are. But I have a bad habit... I need to have all the medicine lay out nicely on the floor (not on my highchair tray since I like to play with the bottles)... before the feeds. So, Mom has to make sure all of them are tightly screwed beforehand. However, I still broke them - 1 bottle of fever medicine & spill the whole bottle of cough mixture..

Resemblance (Dad or Mom)

Image
When I was born; most of the beings commented I do have close resemblance of Daddy.. But as I grow older now, seems like there is a change in my outlooks - many thought I look more like Mommy. My Resemblance to Daddy My Resemblance to Mommy So how u know my 2 dear folks look like?

Home Remedies for Baby Flu

Image
Extracted from BabyCenter.com -- > Eleven safe home remedies to soothe your child's cold and flu symptoms Something which Mommy would like to share with all fellow Moms... after catching up with Tessa's Mom recently. 1) Honey (12 months and up) 2) A neti pot (4 years and up) 3) Nose blowing (2 years and up) 4) A bulb syringe (best for babies) 5) Vapor rubs --> I think above 2 years old & only on chest & back... The old folks added; by applying Vapor slightly above the child's forehead and rub gently up helps... Another is to rub Vapor on the soles of the child's feet and wear his socks over bef...

Really bad-tempered

Mom used to see toddlers throwing tantrums in Toy Marts, Supermarts or even along the streets; by lying down on the floor to scream & bawl. She prbably never expects the same would occur to her. So when it did, she's really at her wits end. I did once in NTUC and very often at home nowadays. Thowing temper & tantrums was a norm before my childcare days. Now, its more on a adhoc basis. But of course, this is not good even they are just occasional tantrums. Mom started to read up books on discipline, handling tantrums... didnt seem to help much though as theory is always easier than practical. She will still try to keep me under control by distracting me or offering something in exchange. Anyway, same trick does not always work. Mom tries to be innovative and there I am; always have a different spots for her. So being a handful is a right description of me, Ray.

Probably Nike will do

Image
Missed out this pic yesterday. As I already figured the art of sucking, I began to drink from Daddy's Nike bottle instead... Something interesting as we all know the mechanism behind this Nike Bottle... Mom at first thought for a moment; Im probably just fondling it. Well, she probably should get a nike bottle instead of searching high & low for a non-spill baby bottle for me last weekend. Anyway, probably the next one when Nuby's gets destroyed (by me.. in no time). I looked more of the opposite of constructive side... like to throw things on the floor, tear watever's in front of me after some time... So, a pretty "high" turnover in the stuffs I use though.

Had a great fall

Image
Eversince childcare, my life seems to be full of events; never-ending. Just today, I had a great fall & hit to sides of the shelves at childcare. Im lucky its not some pointed corners (anyway, can't find either since childcares supposed to child-proof afterall). 1 of the teachers disinfected my wound and put on a plaster for me.. Oh, looks as if disfigured but not too bad. Mom thought should be fine since am a boy afterall. Dad thought ~ 1 or 2 "scars" will make me look more like a man... --> thats how Mom felt. And --> how other people might thought after reading this... Well, that's my dad. He's not humorous but sometimes the things he said; makes people stop & think, perhaps with a laugh behind.

Nuby No-spill Dualflo Valve

Image
Enough of dripping water with my Avent Magic cup; both in childcare & at home... Teachers started to complain as well as Daddy. Probably is the way I handle the "cup" as I either invert it or I decided to drip water into another cup to drink it... To me; its a fascinating way of drinking water or perhaps an alternative to drink directly from the spout. So, Mom is bet to buy a non-spill bottle to stop all these dripping... It was never easy on me at first; I ended up biting its spout and never know to suck. After a few times in childcare; I finally grow acustomed to it.

Cheated

Image
Hey, I was cheated but happily. Mom prepared a wonderful breakfast for all of us today. As she did not allow me to have any processed meat; what Dad did was to just dab my food on the sausage and feed me. Come to think of it, Dad is much more capable in feeding me or he always managed to coax me into almost everything which Mom fails to. Thats not a shame to Mom because, Dad does not always have the upper hand. Ha....

Happy Valentines Day

Image
Happy Valentine's Day! 2 Words ~ " My Valentine" which mark this special day. My 2 dear folks - did not have any special celebration, but they ended up watching tv at home, chatting away happily. Well, its not the place but the companion you have; not only on this day but everyday.

Frustrated

On these days, my tantrums come out of the blue.. like when am eating, drawing, playing. Somehow, Mom is trying to figure the problem. Could it be, uhm stomach pain? Mom reckons it must be related to some discomfort or rather displeasure to something? Hard to tackle but nobody can handle my tantrums especially when am still unwell. Connected to my sickness? I had recovered from flu and cough seems to be "phlegm-less" for now. Let's really hope I will recover in no time and all these tantrums will come to an end..

Say NO

Most of the time, I babbled and not many people can fully comprehend what I mean. Sometimes Mom does; or she probably guess it occasionally. Things that I refused, I begin to shake head to express my negative answers. At times, I can shake very hard to insist a BIG no. 1 cute video - Mom gotcha and my attempts to push the camera away.

Adoring flowers

Flowers should be the last thing in my mind.. but they come in handy during my tantrums. See the amount of fun I had gathered thru these flowers... not more on admiring them but destroying them.

Being observant

Image
I have to admit that am not so into straw. On the contrary, I learnt to drink directly from mug, and am more stable now. Of course this has to do with peer pressure. I looked at my friends frequently; how they handle their food by the given utensils.. I observed the way they sip thru the tiny openings between their lips; to control the flow of water into their mouths. Well, a good learning process. Not only do I observe; but I will think twice before I react.

Toilet water

Almost all babies love to play with water... Oh yes, I like it very much; especially fascinated by the water in the toilet bowl... As Mom did not take any notice, I spill all the water out from my bottle into the bowl...

Still energetic

Image
Despite being sick; am still full of energy, playing around & running all over the whole house, taking my books out to read. Since am still young, I probably do not know what is fever.. But if Im put on my bed to sleep, I dozed off much easier since the medicine does make me drowsy.

Sick again

Image
Im down with Sore eye.. cough, flu & fever... This is the disadvantage of being in the childcare where germs fly anywhere; passing through from one kid to the other. This saddens Mom very much; apart from feeling guilty. Her colleagues had comforted her; told her its natural to fall sick for the first few months; which thereafter I will be "immune" to the germs. So, she decides to stop me from school for the next 2 days when she will take half day each from work to look after me. Body too warm; Mom let me wear something cooling. Pyjamas is skipped as well during bedtime... Uhm, I hope to recover soon since Mom already caught the virus from me. POOR MOM.

New shoes

Image
My new pair of shoes was bought at Bata due to last minute shopping before CNY. Well, they do look good in fact. COST @ SGD 19.90. Since the average life span of my shoes is about 6months plus; Mom reckoned that being comfortable is more essential.

Apple skin

Image
Most of the toddlers are given skin-less apples since its difficult to "chew" and "swallow". Just a week before CNY; I was bugging Daddy for an apple. As Im always impatient, he didnt have the time to remove the skin but pass the slice of apple to me... After having a bite (with skin), my face did not show any disapproval at all. In fact, I wanted more from Dad ever since. From then onwards; I eat apples without any prior skinning. Should be good as its a good source of fibre. But of course, being a "Kiasu" MOM; she specially instructed the maid to ensure the apples are washed thoroughly before cutting...

Feels like home too

Image
Por-por house feels like home too! See the way I sit comfortably; Mom can really tell. Well, Mom remembered when she was young, Por-por used to bring her & Yee-Yee to Great-grandma's house as well. Out of filial piety, Mom is doing the same now. She definitely cannot forget how Por-por had brought her & Yee-Yee up.. Mom, I'll follow suit...
