BRIGHT STARTS Bounce-A-Bout Activity Center

Image
We gotten this little small activity centre for Mei Mei ~ Bounce-A-Bout Activity Center PINK. The overall looks very GIRLY. We like it's simple outlay, toys tangling behind which arouse Mei Mei's interest to turn around. Interesting part is still the small little "tag" which Mei Mei loves to play around. The next intriguing part is the Mirror. She loves to lean forward and stare at the mirror for awhile. There was once, she rested her chin on the base; just to look at her own mirror image. The base of the activity centre is not flat; but slightly bulging out with soft material. At least it doesnt hurt her feet if she steps too hard. Very often, she will try to push herself up just to jump and jump. Perhaps she finds it fun. Oh yes, the mirror plays this cute little tune which requires batteries to operate. Maybe because of her age, she still does not know how to appreciate the rest of the toys. What would be Meimei's next lovely toy?

Journey to walking Part I

Image
In no time, Mei Mei will be walking around the house. This is the time when we need to be extra careful and childproof all the corners of the dangerous "furniture" we may have in the house. Hope that by then, we already have a new maid. She had went through the milestone of lying down to sitting up. Now, she is going through another milestone of sitting up to errr.... Kneeling first before she can stand properly with assistance. She prefers to have a support in front of her, Mom realised. Because if she is being left alone with no corners for her to lean on, she will start to bawl after a while... A girl that needs alot of security... Yeah, she gives us this feeling. Without a good sense of security, like being left alone ---- she will realise no one is around her. Anyway, she tried to stand up by holding onto the sides of our bed. But she cannot make it through. Only can kneel there; looks stucked and the next moment, she will start to make noise. She didnt give up though...

#3???

Image
So is this really Number 3? Oh my god! Honestly, Mom was just wondering how would little #3 look like. Before Mei Mei was born, we all imagined she would probably look like me. But the truth is; she dun seem to look like either one of us. Her looks is emerging out slowly and we can see her face is changing... All babies change as they grow into a toddler and eventually a young man/lady. Of course there are people who look the same since they are born till adult; their looks didn't even seem to have any distinctive change. Well, let's see how #3 will look like... one day?

Mei Mei's Push-Up

Image
In the midst of learning to stand, Mei Mei is learning to "push". So she started to stabilize herself from crawling to sitting up, and now from sitting to kneeling. As she needs support to bring herself up, she has not reached the stage of grabbing onto something to pull herself up. Instead she pushes her body forward in hope that she can stay a bit longer in the "PUSH-UP-position". Looks funny though. We had already lowered her cot to the 2nd lowest bottom level. If we don't, she will probably topple herself over the cot. Time passes real fast! In no time, she will be one year old soon!

Double Eyelids emerged...

Image
Out of the blue, we can see Mei Mei's double eyelids emerged. Initially, we thought that she will not have double lids since she resembles Daddy. Daddy didnt have any D lids. Mom D lids were folded in. She looks perfect in D lids. Hope she will have Yee Yee's big eyes next time. Still wondering where did her "big" eyes come from? Mom suspected its the fish oil which she had been taking diligently. Should b part of the reason. Eyes look brighter of course compared to mine. We really love her eyes! Hope they won't shrink as she grows older???? ^_^

Mei Mei 2nd trial of Sit-Up

Image
Now Mei Mei can sit up better with little assistance. But she tends to lean forward more than she sits straight. Guess this should be the initial part. After some time, hopefully can sit upright unassisted. At the rate I'm going, mom can expects my progress to speed up more than its supposed to.. So is it really true that girls mature faster than boys? And so are their developments?

Mei Mei is our favorite

Image
Mei Mei is everyone's favorite now. My favorite, Daddy's favorite, Mommy's favorite... Even the maid said she wants to bring my Mei Mei back to Indonesia?!?! Por Por's & Yee Yee's favorite as well. Even the very quiet type Yee-Cheong (Yee Yee's husband) finds Mei Mei adorable... I hereby announce myself -- Ray has lost the sole favoritism that I used to enjoy; and I'm no longer the centre of attraction... Alright, it may sound a little bitter but Daddy & Mommy trying hard to spend more time with me whenever they can. Guilt-stricken??? Haha But anyway, Mom had taught me, to always give in to Mei Mei, love Mei Mei. And I did. And she kept reminding me "Ray, you only have one Mei Mei. If u don't love & protect her, no other children will." That's the best convincing part.

Meimei ransacking??

Image
Mei Mei was happily ransacking her toys & stuffs. Saw Mommy & gave that cheeky smile. Mei Mei can't stay in the cot for too long. She didn't want to be left alone and needs company. That's what I noticed. Unlike me!! Keke!! I can play by myself and coaxed myself to sleep in the playpen. Lets see if Mei Mei will inherit my genes when we open the playpen next month.

I love Jeans!

Image
Supposed to be one of my Chinese New Year clothes......... But we can't wait that longer because I only have 1 pair of Khaki pants from Crocs. I used to wear it everytime I go out. I loved it. The other bottoms had been too short for me. Can't fit anymore. Now I had the 2nd pair of long bottoms. We had shopped for quite some time & finally settled with a pair of Jeans with Mothercare. Mom didn't like the ones from Giordano, Fox, Kiddy Palace. Tried and didn't look good on me. We gave Pumpkin Patch a miss because didn't have much time left to shop. The weird part of me is - I don't really like short bottoms. I prefer long bottoms. So slacks, berms are not my style. Reason? I told Mom innocently that; "Long pants can cover the ugly mosquito bites I had".

Meimei trials of Sit-Up

Mei Mei trying to sit up from lying-down position. To be able to sit up assisted at the age of 7 months with a premature history, it's definitely a good milestone. Somehow, probably It's because Mei Mei is smaller in size. That's why she is more agile in a way. Her movements also looked like a snake - per Mom's description. She curls, twists and turns like nobody's business... Didn't even notice if there's any support at her back.

My shot with Meimei

Image
That's my first photo shot with Mei Mei. I love my Mei Mei very much. Dunno why but maybe it's just the bond. Example, I don't used to help to carry marketing stuffs or any kind of things for Mommy. It's either I complain that both my hands are full or, I'm too tired to help. But once Mommy said its Mei Mei stuff, I will agree readily & carry all the way till we reached home. Noble? Of course there will be times that I scold Mei Mei and I ended up get the same scolding from Mommy. Well, most of the time, I don't mind getting close to Mei Mei; allowing her to touch my face, pull my hair, grab my shirt... It's a kind of closeness that I can feel probably through all these gestures of Mei Mei...
