Using hand gestures (tiger mouth)

Nowadays, Im very good at expressing myself. I started to use hands and facial expressions to tell Mommy my displeasure, happiness; and even on figures... Like just now, I used hand gestures to show Mommy - a tiger mouth that howls. Probably, I caught some similar scenes while I watched documentaries on animals. Mom likes to switch to Animal Planet (one of the TV Channels) and describes to me about animals. No doubt, I kept asking for Sponge Bob shows; she tries to distract me by imitating some animals' actions. Not that she dun allow me to watch cartoons, but she thought documentaries and probably some News (like Channel News Asia) will be more effective - and I must start from a young age, to see how the journalist speaks and so on. As it is, my pronounciation is not really that accurate. She tries to correct me but somehow, my tongue is not that cooperative yet. Well, long way to go. Speech and Drama Class may be useful in my school for now; but practice makes perfect at home. M...

Yummy Pineappple Tarts

Image
Once again, I was being introduced a new food - Pineapple Tarts! This is one of Mommy's Chinese New Year Goodie, which she cannot do without. As I tried the 1st piece, I fell in love with it and continue to ask for more. Sad to say, I was sick throughout the whole Chinese New Year... So, I was not allowed to eat more than 2 pieces... since it is sweet and will cause more phlegm in my throat. Anyway, I hugged the container of tarts for very long before I give it back to Mommy...

My worksheets

In school, I am given weekly worksheets in a booklet form to complete. The activities are quite fun. To mom, she thought I may not know what is really going on since I ended up scribbling all over the pages of the worksheets. But according to the teachers, it actually helped alot in my growing up process. Truly, I had learnt things like outlining pictures, able to identify pictures and even some selected alphabets. I love coloring. One fine morning, I even woke up; made a fuss saying, "I want to do coloring~ I want to do coloring!!"... And Mom figured out that I was actually dreaming about myself doing coloring and ended up being woke up by Mommy. The other instance is - my schoolmate woke up crying saying, "I dun want coloring, I dun want coloring!!", as related by one of my teachers. Basically, he does not like coloring but I do. So, we have "opposite" dreams. Sounds funny and cute yeah.

Shaking my leg

Something funny to share... I had learnt to shake my leg while drinking milk. Not a good habit though of course. According to the Chinese beliefs, it will shake away all the luck...? Anyway, still a toddler. If I am a girl, I believe Mom will do everything to stop this nonsense. So being a boy does have some "privilege".

My birth mark

Image
I had a birth mark on my hand. Its a small brown spot which is rather visible. Mom suspects it could be because during her pregnancy, she sat on the bed and apply liquid foundation on her face. The old grandmother myths - pregnant women should never do anything on the bed especially sewing, cutting... etc. Applying foundation on the face is not included though but somehow due to superstitious, she believes it gotta do with something. And thats the only thing she can remembers. Anyway, if u look at it scientifically, it is due to some skin pigmentation. But she dun really believe. Well, the consolation is - the mark is on the hand and not on the face. So, she counts her blessings. Being pregnant is fun and truly a very meaningful process where each and every woman should go through. But in the midst of it, there are many things which one has to take note, particularly for the Asians.

Broccoli - Favorite

Image
I am pleased to announce - that my favorite veggie is no longer spinach anymore but Broccoli . Probably is its smell but I really love Mommy's dish of this - stir fry broccoli with prawns/dry scallops. Its really so tasty that I kept asking for more. Well, I can make do without any rice and just eat plain veggie and even just fruits alone. Sometimes, Mom gets rather worried. At times, I just love plain rice without any dishes of food. I can just keep stuffing plain rice into my mouth.. that scares Mom. So she tried to introduce some gravy into my rice and veggie... However for meat; she has to cut them into very tiny pieces as I dont really fancy big chunks of piece or even meat alone. Weird eating habits I have yeah.

New SHOES!

Image
Chinese New Year is just around the corner. The Chinese believe that having everything new on the 1st day of Chinese Lunar New Year symbolize good fortune for the rest of the Year. So, Mom ordered a pair of Old Navy shoes online for me. Nice & cool yeah. Only thing is - size ordered seems a little bit bigger. So anyway, it is still better than a just-fit size since we little kids will grow out of it very soon. Say, maybe a year of turnover rate (changing of shoes)? Mom used to have everything new prepared as well. But for this year, she didnt take stock of herself. She thought that - preparing all for me is more important than anything else. For herself, so far she only has a new pair of clothes. Its tough to shop her shoes though since she is so fuSSy.

Sunny side up egg

Image
Eggs used to be one of my favourite foods. But one fine day (since last year), I started to detest eggs - never like it anymore. Today, Mom decided to try out something new. My dinner was fried rice. As usual, without nice bright colors on the fried rice, I will not eat. So, she thought of an idea to fry a sunny-side up egg and place it on top of the fried rice. Yes, I was very excited to see this new little yellow thingy (eye yolk) floating on top of the rice. So, I had decided to eat it but only after I have finished the fried rice. Thanks to the idea - at least I ate some rice (because I usually will not eat much rice during dinnertime). I prefer to play instead during dinnertime. So, egg was the last piece in my bowl.. as I slowly indulge myself; I realised it was difficult to cut the egg. Just as I refused to eat it anymore, Mom volunteered to cut and feed me instead.. So, I managed to finish 3/4 of it and left a small piece of eye yolk for Mom. Nice try, Mom! Do buck up yeah! I...

Overdose

Image
Mom has to prepare my snacks on every outing. Well, she did try to do without it; the consequences are disastrous. I would bawl to the top of my voice; she ended up sweeping the whole place just to buy a biscuit/snack for me. Once in a while, I will forget and sometimes (once in a blue moon) did do without a snack. That is usually for shorter outings or I dozed off in my stroller. Last weekend, we went to get some stuffs. I kept making noises even after a hearty lunch - no choice but a snack was handed to me at last to keep me company. Who knows - halfway through, I dozed off instead. Guess am just too tired and full after having "too much" food into my stomach. After a few pushes in the stroller, I put myself to sleep. Overdose of food...keke.

Cry to sleep?

Image
Crying has become part of me recently. Small little thing - will arouse my "crying cells". Especially so when Mommy is angry with me; I know it and will cry first before any other thing starts to happen. Whether Im having my meals to bathing, sleeping time, playing and all - most of the time, Im fussing, yelling and sometimes crying. So now, Mom tries to speak to me nicely whenever she can; to prevent me from crying too much; that may lead to a habit - as what people used to call as "cry-baby". Well, boys especially should not be one.
